 For centuries, young girls in China were subjected to an extremely painful and debilitating procedure called foot binding. Their feet were bound tightly with cloth strips, with the toes bent down under the sole of the foot, and the foot tied front-to-back so that they grew into an exaggerated high curve. This tradition symbolized a girl's willingness to obey, just as it limited the mobility and power of females, kept women subordinate to men, and increased the differences between the sexes. Here are some words depicting the hidden pain behind the curtain....

Bounded feet, constrained life

Hard to breathe in disguise,

Chained on the same day, she opened her eyes

Tagged with burden, has to survive 

Not any difference , whether dead or alive

Struggling heart and silent cries.

False words killing her desires

In her folder, remained fearful files

Spirit to be free ,disappeared 

When found her canva painted with lies,

Deep down pain in her ocean of love

And worries to hold in life's account

Not any appreciation for restless efforts

But shower of taunts in the deserted life

Being the creator of other's joy,

Lost the purpose of her own smile

Drained out soul with echo of pain

Her story still remained the same.
